Invisalign® Treatment | Gilbert
At Robison Orthodontics, we use the latest Invisalign® technology to help patients of all ages achieve straight, healthy, and beautiful smiles—without the hassle of traditional braces. Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, removable, and made from SmartTrack® material, designed for a comfortable and precise fit.
Why Choose Invisalign?
Invisalign offers a modern, flexible alternative to traditional braces with several benefits:
- No metal brackets or wires
- Removable for eating, brushing, and flossing
- Fewer in-office visits and adjustments
- Nearly invisible appearance
- Fast, reliable results
- Custom virtual treatment plan so you can track progress
How Invisalign Works
Invisalign gradually straightens your teeth using a custom series of clear aligners:
- You’ll wear each set of aligners for about two weeks.
- Each aligner shifts your teeth slightly closer to their ideal positions.
- Check-ups occur every six weeks to monitor progress and receive your next aligner sets.
- Treatment typically lasts 9–15 months with 18–30 aligners.

Invisalign® for Teens
Invisalign for Teens is specifically designed for growing smiles and offers all the advantages of traditional Invisalign treatment:
- Effective for both simple and complex alignment issues
- Covered by many orthodontic insurance plans
- No broken wires or bracket discomfort
- Continue enjoying favorite foods and sports
- Easier brushing and flossing
- Boost in self-confidence—studies show teens are 2x more likely to gain self-esteem with Invisalign than with braces
Important Invisalign Guidelines
To get the best results from Invisalign, it’s essential to follow a few simple rules:
Eating & Drinking
- Always remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water.
- Brush and floss before putting your aligners back in to avoid trapping food or bacteria.
Wear Time
- Wear your aligners for 20–22 hours per day.
- The first 12 hours after changing to a new aligner are especially critical—wear them continuously during this time.
Check-Ups
- Visit our office every six weeks to evaluate progress and receive new aligners.
Coverage
- Many insurance plans cover Invisalign similarly to traditional braces. Our team can help you verify your benefits and discuss flexible payment options.

Invisalign Aftercare: Retainer Rules

- Month 1: 22 hours/day
- Month 2: 20 hours/day
- Month 3: 18 hours/day
- Month 4: 16 hours/day
- Month 5: 14 hours/day
- Month 6: 12 hours/day
- Month 7+: Nighttime only
Invisalign Go: Fast Treatment for Minor Issues
Invisalign Go is an accelerated option for adults with mild misalignment or relapse from previous treatment. It offers impressive results in a shorter timeframe:
- Treatment time: as little as 7–16 weeks
- Aligner changes every 2 weeks
- Wear aligners for 22 hours/day
- Includes check-ups and progress assessments every 6 weeks
Common Issues with Invisalign
While Invisalign is effective for most patients, it’s not suitable for everyone:
- Infrequent Wear: Not wearing aligners as instructed can delay results.
- Complex Alignment Issues: Some cases may require braces instead.
- Young Patients: Children with developing teeth may need a different solution.
Caring for Your Aligners
To keep your aligners clean and effective:
- Brush and floss your teeth before reinserting aligners
- Rinse aligners each time you remove them
- Clean aligners daily with Invisalign cleaner or a mild brushing
- Store aligners in their case when not in use
